Owed
The Owed page is the whole ledger from the other end: not one booking at a time, but everything unpaid, soonest to chase first. Money is very much harder to collect once the field is empty again, so the sort order is the point.
Soonest means whichever comes first — the date you asked them to pay by, or the date they arrive. So a deposit due a fortnight after booking is chased a fortnight after booking, not in eight months when they finally turn up. Where a row is near the top because of a payment date rather than an arrival date, it says so underneath the dates.
It splits into four. Late is the money that gets written off, and it comes first for that reason — a payment date has passed, or they have arrived and still owe. Still to come can be chased normally. No total agreed lists the bookings nobody has priced — they are not a debt, and they are not nothing either, and the page counts only their deposit if one was asked for. You owe them catches anybody who has paid too much, which is easy to miss until they ask for it back.
The number beside Owed in the menu counts the same thing the Late section does — a payment date passed, or arrived and still owing, against an agreed total. It is deliberately the alarming one rather than the total count, so it means the same thing every time you see it.
