Kit

The Kit page is everything the campsite owns — what there is, how many, where it lives and what state it is in. It counts in quantities rather than one row per thing, because forty chairs is one line and not forty.

“Where it lives” offers your sites and buildings, and your own storage locations together. Not everything kit lives in is somewhere you’d book a group into — a tool shed or a storage container usually isn’t — so there is a Storage box above the list where you name those separately: add one once and it appears in the picker for every item from then on. Remove one and nothing is lost — any kit that was pointed at it just goes back to having nowhere structured recorded, and keeps whatever you typed in Whereabouts, if anything. Point one at a building and it shows up on that building’s own page, under Sites and buildings.

What it is all worth is added up for you, and anything nobody has put a value on is counted separately rather than as nothing. That total goes on an insurance form, so a figure that quietly treated twenty unpriced things as zero would be worse than no figure at all.

Retiring beats deleting. “We don’t use those any more” is worth keeping: a stock take that stopped mentioning the old palliasses would quietly agree they were never there. Deleting is still possible and takes the item’s loans and stock-take history with it, which is why only an owner or a leader can do it.
