Lost property

At the bottom of the On site page, Log something found takes what it is, the day it was found and where — one of your fields or buildings, or a few words for anywhere else.

Whose is it? The form suggests the groups who were here that day or left the day before, because most things turn up when a field is cleaned after a group goes. It goes by the fire register where somebody checked a group in and out, so a group that stayed an extra night is included and one that left early isn’t. Groups nobody checked in are listed from their booking dates, and say so. Groups who were in the place it was found come first. “Not sure” is fine, and you can change it later when somebody rings up to claim it.

Once you’ve said whose it is, Email them about it sends the group’s leader a short note describing it, from your campsite’s name, with replies coming to you. It shows on the booking with the other emails, and anything a group left behind is listed on their booking too, so whoever answers the phone can see it.

Mark it Returned or Disposed of, with a note of how — collected, posted, given to a charity shop. Anything held for 30 days or more is highlighted, so the shelf doesn’t quietly fill up. A mistake can be put back on the shelf.

Anybody who can take bookings can log and deal with lost property. Deleting a record is for owners and leaders, and is for something logged by mistake — not a way of saying it was thrown away.
