Sending straight to Xero or QuickBooks
Underneath the export, connect your own Xero or QuickBooks account and the same documents get sent across automatically as they’re issued — no file to download and import each time. Only an owner can connect or disconnect it, because it hands an outside system access to your money records.
It only ever pushes. Nothing is read back, so your balances, payments and what’s outstanding all still live here — connecting does not turn this into a two-way sync with whatever Xero or QuickBooks thinks separately.
VAT is written into each document’s description rather than matched to one of your own tax codes over there, because we have no way to know which one you’d want. If you reclaim VAT through Xero or QuickBooks itself, rather than from the figures here, ask your bookkeeper to recode those lines once.
Sync now sends anything issued before you connected, and also has another go at anything that had a problem last time. Otherwise it runs on its own overnight. A document that can’t be sent is listed with the reason rather than retried silently forever — fix the problem and press Sync now again.
Disconnecting only forgets the connection. Nothing already sent to Xero or QuickBooks is touched or withdrawn.
