The risk register

The Risk register lists what could go wrong for the site and what the board does about it. Each risk is scored for impact and likelihood out of 4, before and after the controls in place, the same way Scouts scores risk: impact times likelihood, plus impact. A score of 12 or more is high and is reviewed every three months; the rest once a year.

New register? Start from the example campsite risks: storms, falling trees, fire, the water supply, safeguarding, a bad season, fraud and more. Each comes with suggested scores and controls for a typical campsite, so open each one afterwards and score it for yours.

Already keep one in a spreadsheet? Import reads an Excel or CSV file in your browser and shows what it found before anything is saved, including Scouts' own template. Export gives a spreadsheet back, and the print view is ready for the AGM pack or the District. High, changed and unscored risks go on the next meeting's agenda on their own.
